To my Abby,

Four years of friendship with you leads to a lot of memories and thankfulness, but no idea where to start this letter.  I have thanked you in the past for things like coming over to my house when I was bored or for helping me clean my room or for getting me a water bottle.  But I’m realizing now that I have never stopped to say thank you for much else.

We started this friendship in room A104, my sophomore year of high school and your freshman.  You sat behind me in our Intro To Teaching class and for whatever reason you thought I was scary.  Though I had known you from the band, we had never really talked. All I knew was you were the redhead girl in colorguard who kinda sucked (I’m sorry buddy).  Who knew that within a few short months you would become one of the most important people in my life.

You have become the person in my life that I can go to with any and everything.  You have become my rock and the person that kept me sane throughout all the changes we have experienced since my sophomore year.  From life and death, to new jobs, new schools, graduations, lots of dances, lots of dates, our amazing boyfriends.

But now comes the biggest change we are going to have to face…distance.  As your senior year is coming to an end it means you’re going to be starting new adventures without me.  Now you’re going to be at TCNJ while I’m here at Rowan. Rowan was our plan all along. Sometimes things don’t always go to plan.  Though I may have been a little upset with you for not applying to Rowan, I couldn’t be a prouder best friend for you getting to go to your dream school.  Life has so much to offer you my favorite redhead, you’re going to make an amazing lion even if you are 40 minutes away from me.

Thank you for all you have done for me.  Thank you for being the greatest best friend a girl can ask for.  For being the best future teacher buddy, the greatest Vice President to my President, the greatest color guard member, the most perfect future maid of honor, the greatest partner in crime.  The most amazing leader, the greatest shoulder to cry one, the best person at making me laugh, for knowing what’s wrong with me even before I do, for valuing me and my health when I sometimes lack at doing that.  Also thank you for Spencer. I know you were unsure about me dating your cousin, but I could never be more grateful that you changed your mind. Plus if you didn’t you would have never had Anthony. You’re one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me and I can’t wait to see how our future will work out.  I’m insanely proud of you and to call you my best friend. Thank you for everything.

Love, Your Mikaela
