The night sky scattered with the light and beauty of a thousand suns is indescribable.
Something so unappreciated when I was young, the night sky is something that I’ve grown to love very much.
The feeling I can only describe as someone lowering the opacity of your life went unnoticed until I realised I saw things differently than everyone else. I was looking at life through a smokescreen, I squinted a lot to see things more clearly which I thought was normal until people started to point out that I needed glasses.
I told my parents I may need my eyes checked and we went to the eye doctor and it was true I needed glasses to see more clearly. A week or two passed by and I finally got my glasses. I tried them on and instantly I realised what I was missing. Everything looked so amazing, so glossy, so textured, I could see things from greater distances than I thought possible.
Evening came and I was taking out the trash when I noticed the sky looked different than before. The stars, It was breathtaking to see all the lights, how many were in the sky, they all looked so magical, so shiny and beautiful. I knew what the stars looked like, I saw images of the night sky on my phone and on the computer but I never really appreciated them as much as I do now until I saw them with my own eyes.
A poetic and inspiring post, Malcolm. The image, of course, is captivating, and so is your first sentence:
“The night sky scattered with the light and beauty of a thousand suns is indescribable.”
“Indescribable” is the perfect word for it.
I’ve noticed now that on clearer nights, the night sky is a little more visible than before the economy slowed due to coronavirus. There’s less pollution in the air. I hope more people look up to see the breathtaking sights glimmering above us.

Very poetic for sure!
I also enjoy looking up at the night sky nothing can beat the moonlight and hanging out with some amazing people just talking the night away.

I really loved this!
I felt like I could relate to this 100%. The most relatable part was, “I tried them on and instantly I realized what I was missing.” That’s exactly how I felt when I actually started wearing my glasses. I never liked wearing them at first
